Andrew Hem showed me his most recent painting, I realized that he'd stepped up his game to a whole new level. In this startlingly vivid scenario, Andrew placed himself within a stunning amalgamation of the
gloriously stratified workspace of the legendary painter
Francis Bacon and his own inspiration-strewn studio overlooking the rooftops of Koreatown.

On Thursday, January 3rd, the painting will be on view at San Francisco's
Spoke Art Gallery in the
2nd Annual Supersonic Electronic Invitational art show, which will also include Erratic Phenomena favorites like
João Ruas,
Tessar Lo and
Nimit Malavia.
